Grip socks give him instant footing. A traction paw wax keeps it between wears. Together, they're the Steady Paws Traction Kit, so he walks, stands, and gets up on his own again.
Grip soles down, fasten the strap snug above the ankle joint. That's it, no training, no adjustment period for most dogs.
2
Rub in the wax
A thin layer on each pad, once or twice a week or before slick-floor time. It absorbs in about a minute, moisturizes the pad and leaves grip behind.
3
Watch him cross the floor
To his bowl. Up the step. Across the kitchen he's been avoiding for months. On his own.
The part nobody tells you
It's not his joints. It's the floor.
As dogs age, their paw pads smooth out and their toes lose the strength to dig in. On carpet or grass, that's fine. On hardwood, tile, or laminate, there's suddenly nothing to hold onto.
His paws splay. His back legs slide. And a dog that can't trust the ground under him does the only sensible thing: he stops moving.
Restore his grip, and he'll restore his own confidence.
Why the kit is two products, not one
Instant · The socks
Grip where his pads can't
Silicone grip patterns on the soles do the holding his pads no longer can. Breathable mesh keeps them comfortable for all-day wear, and an adjustable strap keeps them on. Footing in the 60 seconds it takes to put them on.
+
Every day · The wax
Traction between wears
A natural paw wax that adds grip directly to his pads while it moisturizes and protects them. Covers barefoot hours, sock breaks, and dogs who won't wear socks at all.
Socks for the instant fix. Wax for everything in between. That's full-coverage footing, not a partial fix.

Chews and vet care matter for what's happening inside the joint, we're not telling you to stop. Traction is the separate, fixable problem between his paws and your floor.
The hesitation at the carpet-to-hardwood line is usually the first thing to disappear, because it was never stubbornness, it was footing.
Getting up stops being a scramble
With grip under his pads, standing from lying down goes back to being one motion instead of a slow, splayed negotiation.
He goes back to his old routes
The kitchen, the hallway, the spot by the window, the places he'd quietly written off come back into rotation.
BEFORE YOU ASK
Honest answers to the six things everyone wonders
This is why we didn't source the cheapest sock on the market. Each sock has an adjustable strap that fastens above the ankle joint, the reason ordinary dog socks slide off is that they rely on elastic alone. Fasten the strap snug, while still allowing two fingers underneath, and they stay put through walking, standing, and getting up.
Age and joints can absolutely be part of the picture, we're not telling you to skip the vet. But traction is the part you can address today. Even a dog with sore joints still needs secure footing to feel willing to move. If he is comfortable on carpet but freezes on hard floors, traction may be part of the problem.
Most dogs stop noticing the socks after a few minutes of walking. For committed chewers, put the socks on immediately before mealtime or a walk so their attention shifts elsewhere. Always supervise your dog while wearing the socks, and remove them if the dog persistently chews or damages them.
Apply only a thin layer and allow it to absorb before your dog walks across floors or rugs. Because materials and surfaces vary, test the product on a small, hidden area first and follow the product care instructions.
Use only according to the ingredient list and directions supplied with the product. Occasional licking may happen, but the product should not be ingested in large amounts. If your dog persistently licks or chews the treated paws, remove the product and consult your veterinarian.
Yes, the socks are machine washable. Use cold water on a gentle cycle and air dry. Avoid using fabric softener or bleach, as these can reduce the grip and damage the material.
WHY STEADY PAWS EXISTS
Steady Paws exists because of a pattern we kept seeing: a senior dog standing at the edge of a kitchen floor he used to own, too unsure of his own feet to cross it, and an owner who'd already tried the joint chews, because nobody had said the word traction out loud.
It was never only his joints. So we built the kit that fixes the part everyone overlooks: the grip between his paws and your floor.
